SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE MEETING
JUNE 12, 2006

MEMBERS PRESENT: MARK HESSE, BARBARA ROHMER, ANGELA
HENNIGAN & JEANNINE FLUSCHE

B. THE MEETING WAS OPENED WITH OLD BUSINESS:
1. REPORT ON THE FAMILY NIGHT MOVIE.  There was good
response in turn out and enjoyment of the movie night.  It
was suggested that we look into a yearly membership with a
company that provides movies in order to lower the cost
per movie. Cost of renting The Rookie was $75.00. The next
movie night is tentatively planned for Sept. 10th.
Suggested movies were Radio and Rudy.
2. ECHOS OF FAITH.  Barbara Rohmer reported that five
attended last Tuesday and there are 3 more meetings.
3.  MISSION: Plans for Fr Mcaffry have been oked by the
diocese and Fr. John. Dates of the mission will be July
29,30, 31 & Aug 1 & 2nd.  Fr. John will be gone during
this time and Masses for the weekend will be celebrated by
Fr. McCaffry. Mission talks will follow the pillars of the
Catholic Catechism. The fee is $3000.00 with mileage and
room.  Several volunteers will handle publicity and
babysitting may be available through the church.
4. ACTS RETREAT: The first men's retreat will filled and
great success. The first women's retreat will be held on
June 22nd. All 30 spaces are filled and there is a waiting
list.  Dates for the next retreats are being planned.
5. BULLETIN: Jeannine is still working on finding when the
contract is up.
6. SECOND SUNDAY: Plans are being made to start a Second
Sunday program of education and witness between the
morning Masses. This is a joint effort with the Unity
Committee.
C. 1. SPIRITUAL WEIGHT LOSS  program is being planned by
Lanie    Bartush who will host and lead it.  The program
is called LightWay.
2. EXALT. Kelly Bayer is looking into this program which
includes praise & worship, adoration, and benediction
followed by a potluck dinner. Recommended time to begin is
after the Life in the Spirit Seminar.
3. Dan Luby will be contacted to see if he will present a
workshop on the DaVinci Code.
4. Next meeting will be July 5th @ 7pm
