Unity and Fellowship Committee Meeting
Minutes – July 10, 2007
The meeting began with all reciting a special “ Prayer for Unity”.
Present were: Tim Schneider, Deb Klement, Carol Fuhrmann, Betty Kralicke, Juanita Bright, Rosemary Dankesreiter, Don and Betty Flusche.
Betty Flusche announced a change of meeting date and time for the future. Starting in August, meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of each month in the Community Center meeting room at 7:15 pm.
It was decided the Unity and Fellowship committee would provide and serve refreshments when the Joint Committee presents to the parish their “State of the Parish the Living our Mission Document,” on Sunday, September 9, between the 8am and 10:30am masses.
Betty Flusche reported she has contacted Bigbee’s Bounce-A-Lot from Sherman for their obstacle course, bouncer & slide combo and bungee basketball bouncers for the kids at “Family Day in the Park” on September 23. Clint Cain was contacted for the use of his karaoke machine again this year.
The committee members decided to contact the organizations who helped with last years “Family Day in the Park” to ask if they would like to be a part of it again this year. The members will give their report at our next meeting:
Kim Felderhoff will contact Leslie Eddleman about the kids entertainment, such as face painting and sand art and she will also ask if the SH Dance Team will perform a routine again this year.
Deb Schneider will contact the SHHS and MISD cheerleaders to see if they want to do a performance and also provide snow cones for the youngsters. She will also find a clean-up crew, considering the schools National Honor Society (for them to gain merits) or the youth group.
Betty Rose Walterscheid will contact Fred and Elaine Koesler about serving their famous kettle korn, and will contact Tom Gressett to see if he will use his cart to transport people in the park. She will ask the KC’s for the use of their tables.
Juanita Bright will be talking with members of the Muenster First Baptist Church inviting them be a part of “Family Day in the Park”. She will contact a member of the St Ann’s Society requesting their help with serving desserts and offer the opportunity to the Catholic Daughters to be in charge of playing the game of bingo.
Rosemary Dankesreiter will talk with the girl scouts about helping with the advertisement, and she will also contact Joe or LeRoy Schmidlkofer about providing train rides for the kids.
Wanda Flusche will talk with the Jaycees about moving tables to and from the park.
Pat Fuhrmann is going to be in charge of a volleyball tournament.
Tim Schneider will contact the coaches from both schools to be in charge of a modified tug-of-war game. Tim will be in charge of a tournament for the game of washers.
Betty Kralicke is in charge of the guest registry.
Betty Flusche will contact Bert Hesse and the Boy Scouts to see if they will provide cotton candy.
