Unity and Fellowship Committee Meeting
Minutes – October 3, 2007
Betty Flusche opened the meeting at 7:15 pm. Members present recited a special “Prayer for Unity”.
Those present for the meeting were: Stella Hess, Betty Kralicke, Betty Rose Walterscheid, Juanita Bright, Deb Klement, and Don and Betty Flusche.
Betty Flusche extended a thank you to all members who helped in any way to make Family Day in the Park a huge success. There was an estimation of approximately 500 adults and children attended the event. Betty will be sending out individual thank you’s to non-members who helped in any way, and a thank you will be placed in the parish bulletin. Members then discussed ideas on how and what to do to improve next year’s Family Day. We discussed purchasing our own karaoke machine, and how to get more participation in volleyball and the washers throw, but no decisions were made. It was decided that next year’s annual event would happen on the third Sunday in September (as is planned every year on the third Sunday in September). The date will be Sunday, September 21, 2008.
Don made available for viewing, by computer, the pictures he took this year at Family Day. Janet Felderhoff will send an article along with pictures to be placed in the North Texas Catholic publication and it was decided, we place an article in the Muenster Enterprise by way of a Letter to the Editor.
Don presented an adopt-a-chair program to the committee. The committee was pleased to sponsor this program to help spread the word that individuals can donate $30.00 per chair to help furnish the Sacred Heart Parish Community Center with seating. Funds for this project are a little scarce right now and the Building and Maintenance Committee are accepting donations.
The meeting was adjourned with a prayer to the Blessed Virgin.
