Youth Council Minutes

Present for the meeting were Deanna Hellman, Valerie Henscheid, Rita Bayer, Laurie Valliere, Debbie Endres, Monica LeBrasseur, Cliff Sicking, and Dana Dittlinger. 

 

The meeting opened with a prayer by Laurie.

 

Minutes

Minutes of the June 6^th meeting were reviewed and approved.

 

Budget

The 2006-2007 budget began July 1^st.

 

Youth Minister Report

§         Dana reported on Camp Ft Worth.  She and 5 of our youth attended and had an awesome time.

§         Ranger Game-July 5^th-Dana has tickets for sale. 

§         DCYC-July 7^th-9^th.  An adult chaperone meeting will be Thursday at 5:30.  The bus will leave at 3:00 on Friday.  Reminder postcards were mailed to all who signed up to attend with departure, return info, etc…  Dana and some of the youth are working on a banner to carry up at the Mass on Sunday.

§         SHY Jr. Lock in will be held at Turtle Hill on Thursday July 27^th & 28^th.  The SHY youth will lead the retreat.  Dana will need adult chaperones to take shifts throughout the night.

B.     Policy & Guidelines-Looked over the Youth Council Policy & Guidelines.

The following changes will be made.

*Under job description will add must attend Keeping Children Safe Program

*Under Terms:  Change the terms to 3yrs.  Eliminate the sentence after being

  on the council 3 years council members should wait out 1 year and then may

   rejoin the council for another term. 

*Under Meeting Agenda Format-Change #3 Treasurers Report to Youth

   Minister Report-Budget

 

There will be two openings on the Youth Council. There will be an announcement in the July 9^th bulletin and then an insert in the July 16^th bulletin.  The insert will have the job description and responsibilities of a Youth Council Member.  It will also explain how the prospective members will have a discernment meeting to choose the two people who will serve on the Council.

The meeting will be facilitated by Cliff.

A.     The Discernment meeting will be Tuesday July 25^th at 7:00 p.m.
