Youth Council Minutes

September 10^th, 2006

 

Present for the meeting were Ashley Harman, Nicole Bayer, Dana Dittlinger, DeAnna Hellman, Laurie Valliere, Karen Dangelmayr, Cliff Sicking, Rita Bayer, Valerie Henscheid, and Debbie Endres.

 

Opened the meeting with praise and music let by Laurie & Ashley.

 

Ashley started the meeting by welcoming Nicole Bayer to the Youth Council.  John Walterscheid was not able to attend.  Everyone introduced themselves and discussed why they were involved in youth ministry.  Ashley gave a big thank-you to Cliff Sicking and Karen Dangelmayr for helping to get the Youth Council going and for serving faithfully on the committee..

 

Minutes

Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. 

 

Budget

Dana handed out the Council’s expenses in the new budget as of July 31^st 2006.

 

Youth Minister Report

• SHY & SHY Jr. faith and fun nights began in September with SHY on Wednesday nights and SHY Jr. on Sunday nights.  Both evenings have had great participation.
• Dana noted that if there were any questions or problems during our Parish’s time of transition without a Priest, Monica should be contacted and she could then contact the appropriate person at the Diocese.
• The youth that are interested in being leaders have picked up their applications and are due by Wednesday September 13^th. 
• Dana will be on vacation from Saturday September 16^th –Friday September 22^nd.

New Business

1. Parish Picnic
2. Scope of Youth Council
3. Goals for 2006/2007-Everyone was asked to come of with some goals for the upcoming year.  The included:
1. The kids need a place of their own to meet and call their own. 
2. More interaction with other parishes
3. Mission trip
4. Exposure to different experiences-Attend other parish youth masses, have guest speakers, musicians come in etc…
5. Minister to 5^th & 6^th graders.

     

4. Youth Minister’s Evaluation-We will do this at the next meeting.
